MAN JAILED FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL ABUSE OFFENCES
A man aged 37 has been condemned to 23 years in prison after being found guilty of several child sexual abuse crimes involving seven young victims.Jamie Beckett, who lives in Wakefield, was apprehended in December 2022 by officers from the National Crime Agency, following intelligence shared by international law enforcement partners.
Subsequent investigations identified links between a PayPal account, a Gmail address, and his mobile phone, tying him to the crimes.
He exploited the financial vulnerabilities of the victims and a facilitator by offering payments for medical visits, electricity bills, and Wi-Fi access in return for child abuse images and videos.
Payments varied from about £6.20 to £187 per request.
Between June 2020 and June 2022, digital evidence showed Beckett conducted 9,493 messages, exchanged 356 media files, and made roughly 39 phone calls with the facilitator.
A telecommunications technician, Beckett used direct instructions for the facilitator regarding actions on the children.
When the content supplied did not match his preferences, he withheld payments until new, satisfactory media was provided.
His communications included urging the facilitator to harm children physically or sexually, promising the actions would be financially beneficial, and suggesting children would become desensitized.
He also rejected previously viewed material and demanded fresh content, even expressing a wish to travel to the Philippines to carry out abuse himself.
The total spent by Beckett for the abusive media was just under £560, involving seven children aged 5 to 15.
These victims have been subsequently protected.
Investigation of devices taken from his home revealed additional evidence, including indecent images stored on his mobile device.
In February 2026, Beckett pleaded guilty to 25 charges at Leeds Crown Court.
Today, he received a sentence of 23 years—comprising 16 years in prison and a further seven years on license.
He will also be listed on the sex offenders' register permanently and be subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
