MAN JAILED AND GIVEN RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER STALKING EX-PARTNER
Thomas Parr, aged 24, was involved in a series of criminal activities in the Spalding area following his bail release for an offense against his ex-partner.At Lincoln Crown Court, it was heard that Parr resumed contact with his former partner in November 2021 after being released from prison for breaching a restraining order by visiting her residence.
Prosecutor Leanne Summers indicated that Parr made almost daily attempts to contact her, with some days seeing up to 30 calls within a single day.
In her victim impact statement, the woman shared that she experienced depression, sleep issues, and had concerns because Parr was aware of her home address.
The ongoing calls persisted until mid-December, the court was told.
In March, Parr’s criminal activities escalated, starting with a theft caught on CCTV where he was observed climbing over a fence and stealing a bicycle from FreshLinc Distribution.
He also committed two burglaries at Adams convenience store.
On March 24, he stole a till containing roughly £700 by smashing the front door with a rock.
A few days later, he returned and took another till with about £200, forcing open an unsecured door.
Miss Summers revealed CCTV footage showing Parr entering the staff area of Worldwide Fruit at 3.30am on March 28, dressed in high-visibility gear.
He stole between £20 and £30 from a coffee vending machine during that break-in.
Parr also admitted to taking £210 worth of alcohol from Sainsbury’s and breaking into a vehicle.
He was arrested with a small quantity of cannabis but did not respond to police questioning.
Lawyer Samuel Lowne said that Parr had been living temporarily on sofas after his release from prison and that most of his offenses were linked to his crack cocaine dependency.
"He has been off drugs while in prison and views himself as a new man," Lowne stated.
"He hopes to contribute positively to society." The defendant, formerly living on Winsover Road in Spalding, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order, two counts of commercial burglary, theft of a bicycle, two theft charges, and possessing a small amount of cannabis between November 24 and March 30.
Sentencing was delivered by Recorder David Allan, who noted that the breach of the restraining order happened immediately after Parr’s release from prison.
He was also placed under a five-year restraining order banning contact with his former partner.
