MAN WHO PERFORMED SEX ACT OUTSIDE PAISLEY PIE CO HAD BEEN DRINKING FOR 14 HOURS
A man who was caught performing a sex act in a Paisley street had been drinking for 14 hours.Thomas Campbell had been at a wedding reception on November 15, last year, when he "blacked out." The 32-year-old woke up the next day to find images across social media of him masturbating outside of Paisley Pie Co in the town’s Causeyside Street.
Defence agent John Kilcoyne told the court that Campbell, a signal technician, was "deeply embarrassed and ashamed." He explained that Campbell had been at a wedding reception, drank for around 14 hours, and blacked out.
Campbell woke up to find the images online, which caused the whole family to be humiliated.
He expressed remorse and stated he has not drank alcohol since the offence.
Sheriff Eoin McGinty stated that the motivation behind the offence was difficult to comprehend and noted this behavior was out of character for Campbell, who is from Falkland Crescent, Bishopbriggs.
Campbell was placed on a structure deferred sentence, a programme for addressing underlying issues related to offending behavior.
He is due to return to court in April.
