PERVERT CATHOLIC PRIEST WHO LURED DRUNK BUSINESSMAN BACK TO HOME AT SCOTS PARISH & SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HIM JAILED
A PERVERT priest who sexually assaulted a businessman after plying him with booze and luring him to his church manse for a “night cap” has been jailed.Canon Stephen Baillie stripped the man naked and attacked after luring him to a ‘business dinner’ and wining and dining him in June 2024.
Baillie, from Glasgow, twice suggested the pair go back to his manse “to phone a taxi and have a night cap”.
But when the pair were in the church house, the priest pounced and assaulted him when he was passed out.
Baillie was convicted today of pinning the man against a sink, kissing him, placing his hands inside his trousers, removing his clothing and carrying out sexual acts, all while he was too intoxicated to consent.
The accuser said his ordeal began when the priest put his hand inside his trousers shortly after they arrived in the manse kitchen.
He then “came to” on a sofa and found the priest performing oral sex on him, causing him to stand up and vomit.
He told the court the attack left him feeling “physically sick” before he was eventually sick.
Baillie denied sexually assaulting the man but was convicted and sentenced to 19 months imprisonment at Paisley Sheriff Court, also being placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
A spokesperson for the Diocese of Paisley said Baillie was convicted in March 2026 and has not exercised public ministry since November 2024 when he was arrested.
The Diocese expressed support for the victim and mentioned ongoing canonical procedures to determine future Church action.
