BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a 41-year-old man who assaulted his former partner in a Kelso street.
The incident involved Kennedy approaching Suzanne Baxter, being abusive, and pulling her to the ground, then punching her to the head and kicking her on the body, after which he walked away.
The woman was taken to Borders General Hospital but had no injuries.
Kennedy was arrested and made no reply to the caution and charge.
Additionally, Kennedy admitted a second complaint of attempting to steal a bicycle from the grounds of the Ednam House Hotel in Kelso on January 18 around 10pm.
Witnesses saw him attempting to forcibly move a lock from a secure fixture and police identified him from CCTV.
He was then arrested and held in custody.
Kennedy, of Kelso, faces these allegations with the case deferred for reports until March 2 for the assault and March 5 for the breach of bail and threatening behavior.
