MAN WITH A LONG HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, INCLUDING 18 PRIOR CONVICTIONS, HAS BEEN REMANDED INTO CUSTODY
Suni Allen, aged 42 and from Middlesbrough, appeared in court following the latest alleged assault on a woman, which required hospital treatment for the victim. The court was informed of Allen's extensive and troubling record of violent and abusive conduct, mostly directed towards women.
Allen, who has previously called himself a “hard man,” has accumulated a criminal record spanning many years.
Court documents reveal a repeated pattern of coercive tactics, physical violence, and intimidation, starting with his first wife, whom he met when she was only 15 years old while he was 23.
It was told in court that Allen groomed his young partner, with sexual activity commencing shortly thereafter.
Violence escalated quickly, with her suffering numerous assaults—including being hit with a glass, dragged out of bed by her legs, and beaten so severely that she remained unable to walk for days.
Their relationship ended after a year, when she suffered a brain injury at age 16.
Allen then entered another relationship, where he subjected a second woman to similar abuses.
Court evidence showed he forced her to take drugs and regularly stole from her purse.
When she confronted him about the theft, he responded with violence that left her with a broken cheekbone following a sustained attack.
Prosecutors characterized Allen as obsessively jealous, often accusing women of cheating.
In one particularly troubling case, he reportedly grabbed a woman, threw her to the ground, punched and choked her, all while shouting abuse at her 11-year-old daughter and calling her mother a “slag.” The young girl was forced to witness the assault.
It was also revealed that Allen frequently carried out his abuse in front of children, shouting, swearing, punching doors, and intimidating women in the household.
He showed no remorse, repeatedly exposing children to fear and violence.
In the latest incident, Allen was initially charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent after an altercation involving his current girlfriend.
Though he denied that charge, he admitted to two counts of assault by battery.
These charges stem from an incident where he pushed her down the stairs.
She is now awaiting surgery for her injuries.
Allen's violent behavior dates back several years.
In 2006, he was acquitted after a fight with another man left an 18-year-old with a fractured eye socket, and extensive bruising to his head, face, back, and ribs.
Currently unemployed, Allen has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court in February, when sentencing decisions are expected.
