STEVEN GIBBON FROM WYTHENSHAWE SENT TO SECURE HOSPITAL AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT AT BAGULEY TESCO
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Steven Gibbon, a 20-year-old man from Robertcroft Close in Wythenshawe, has been found guilty of a serious sexual offense involving a young child.The incident took place in February 2006 within the premises of a Tesco supermarket located in Baguley, a suburb known for its busy shopping areas.
Gibbon appeared before Manchester Crown Court where he admitted to the charges of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13, as well as offering money as a bribe to conceal his misconduct.
The court proceedings revealed the disturbing details of the assault, which occurred while the child's family was engaged in their shopping routine.
According to court reports, the victim, a five-year-old boy, was with his mother at the checkout counter, paying for their groceries when the incident unfolded.
The young boy then excused himself to use the toilet located near the checkout area.
