BRIDLINGTON PERVERT STEVEN BEMROSE ADMITS TO POSSESSING CHILD INDECENT MOVIES AND IMAGES
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Bridlington, Steven Bemrose, aged 29, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the possession and potential distribution of indecent material involving children. The charges stem from a police raid conducted at his residence on North Back Lane in Bridlington during August 2015, which uncovered a disturbing collection of illicit content.
During the court proceedings held at Hull Crown Court on the Monday following the arrest, it was revealed that Bemrose had been in possession of a significant number of indecent movies and images.
Specifically, he admitted to possessing 102 indecent movies and nine indecent images of children, material which he had stored on Acer and Advent laptop computers.
The timeframe for this illegal possession was established as between May 9, 2013, and July 7, 2015.
Further details disclosed during the hearing indicated that Bemrose had previously admitted to possessing extreme pornographic images and a prohibited movie, adding to the severity of his charges.
The prosecution argued that his possession was not merely for personal viewing but was intended for distribution, with the aim of sharing these illicit materials with others.
In response, Recorder Timothy Roberts, QC, addressed Bemrose directly, stating, “You have pleaded guilty.
What remains now is the sentencing phase.
I am directing the preparation of a pre-sentence report.” He also clarified that the decision to enlarge bail and order a pre-sentence report should not be interpreted as an indication of the final sentence, which is scheduled to be determined on May 10.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution of child exploitation material and highlights the serious legal consequences faced by those involved in such crimes.
