“CAUGHT MID-DINNER” — BRIDLINGTON MAN CONFRONTED IN CHILD CHAT PROBE
A Tesco worker was confronted at his home in Bridlington after an investigation by online child protection group Red Rose UK.Nicholas Townsend, from the Bridlington area, was approached at his address on the evening of 2nd February 2026 following allegations of sexual communication with someone believed to be a child.
Members of Red Rose UK attended the property as part of their ongoing operations targeting individuals suspected of engaging in inappropriate online conversations with minors.
The group states that all evidence gathered is preserved and passed to police.
The confrontation is understood to have taken place at Townsend’s home, where he was reportedly eating dinner at the time.
Material relating to the incident has been recorded and retained as part of an evidence package.
It has not been confirmed whether Townsend has been charged.
Any investigation would be ongoing, and all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Red Rose UK said safeguarding children remains their priority and that they continue to work within legal frameworks when submitting evidence to authorities.

Nicholas Townsend had been communicating highly s*xually with at least 4 decoys as young as 12-years-old over the past 24 hours before an emergency sting was performed at his address this evening.
He repeatedly requested indecent images, sent explicit images and told the decoys that he had a s*xual interest in young ch*ldren.
His family were completely unaware of the events prior to the citizens arrest being conducted and we advise people to stay away from the family and the property.
