NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR MANSLAUGHTER OF WIFE ON CHRISTMAS DAY
Stephen Woodward, aged 56 and from Bilborough, was found guilty of manslaughter after confessing to the killing of his wife Gillian, who was also 56, on Christmas Day.The cause of death was a stab wound, and psychiatric evaluations revealed he was experiencing a depressive disorder at the time of the incident.
The Nottingham Crown Court handed down a four-year prison sentence, citing diminished responsibility as a significant factor in his plea.
The family of the deceased expressed their gratitude for the legal proceedings, stating: "We are thankful for how the police and courts have managed the tragic loss of our mother with fairness and compassion."
