MANIPULATIVE NOTTINGHAM THUG WAS 'FROTHING' AT THE MOUTH AFTER ATTACKING PARTNER
A thug was "frothing" at the mouth after bursting into his ex-partner's home and attacking her.She had described her failing relationship with Rowan Grant as "Hell" after he assaulted her and she brought things to an end in 2020.
Grant was banned from contacting her but he breached this as he attacked her, bursting into her home and snatching her phone on January 26.
He accused her of calling police and demanded to view her call logs, then pushed her head and she banged it on something.
Nottingham Crown Court heard on Wednesday, June 1, she suffered a cut and bleeding to her ear.
Grant was shouting and so angry, she had described, "his mouth was frothing".
She told her older son to call police after Grant threw her phone on the sofa and removed the key from the back door.
She said Grant, 30, of Melford Road, Bilborough, had "shown complete disregard for the restraining order, and he is "controlling and manipulative".
The defendant has 17 convictions for 31 offences including for robbery, drug supply, having an offensive weapon and driving offences.
The restraining order on this victim was imposed in September 2020 for five years, when Grant was convicted of controlling and coercive behaviour after he repeatedly assaulted her, tried to assault her, and was verbally abusive.
Despite the order, he decided to go to her address, barging his way in without permission.
"You were, on any definition, jealous and controlling in your behaviour," said Judge Coupland.
He imposed four months for the assault on the woman concurrent to 14 months for breaching the restraining order in her home in front of children.
Four months concurrently were passed on two remaining breaches of the order - offences which were all admitted by Grant.
