STEPHEN JONES FROM LLANGEFNI INVOLVED IN SHOCKING CHILD AND ANIMAL SEX OFFENSES AT LOCAL CHICKEN FACTORY
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Llangefni, Stephen Jones, a poultry worker, faced serious allegations involving the distribution of explicit and disturbing material. The incident came to light after police investigations revealed that Jones had sent an indecent video to a colleague at the chicken factory where he was employed, an act he claimed was intended as a joke.In January 2019, Jones appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court to face charges that included the distribution of an indecent image of a child, possession of such an image, and the sharing of extreme pornography involving an animal. The court also heard that Jones had published a highly obscene video depicting a man engaging in sexual activity with a horse.
Judge Huw Rees addressed Jones directly during the sentencing, emphasizing the gravity of his actions. He stated, “Anyone who distributes this sort of image can expect to go to prison for up to three years. This was extremely foolhardy behaviour which could have robbed you of your liberty.” The judge further condemned the behavior, warning that “showing any interest in such images creates a demand for further abuse of children to take place to satisfy the unhealthy, degenerate and lustful demands of people like you.”
As a result of his actions, Jones was sentenced to a nine-month community order, which includes mandatory participation in a rehabilitation program aimed at correcting his understanding of what constitutes appropriate humor and behavior. Additionally, he is required to complete 100 hours of unpaid community service.
Prosecutor Anna Price explained that police were alerted in December 2017 after the obscene image of a child was circulated, and it was discovered that the chicken video had been sent via a colleague’s mobile phone. The video had been circulating among staff at the chicken factory, causing disgust among some employees, including the wife of the colleague who found it particularly sickening.
During police interviews, Jones admitted that he had not believed the video would cause any trouble. He explained that he had sent it to several individuals, including a manager and his own wife, simply “as a laugh.” He also disclosed that he had received a video on Facebook depicting a man having sex with a horse, which he had also shared.
The court heard that Jones had been dismissed from his position at the chicken factory and was working as a private ambulance driver at the time of sentencing. Furthermore, it was ordered that Jones’s name will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of five years, reflecting the seriousness of his offenses and the potential risk to the community.
