KEITH DAVIES FROM LLANGEFNI JAILED FOR DECADE-LONG SEXUAL ABUSE ON CHILDREN IN ANGLESEY

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Anglesey, Keith Davies, aged 63 and residing in Glan Cefni, Llangefni, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse against three young children. The abuse spanned over a decade, beginning in the 1970s, and involved repeated violations that have left lasting scars on the victims.

Davies, who had denied all charges, was found guilty by a jury after a trial held at Caernarfon Crown Court last month. The court proceedings revealed the gravity of his actions, although specific details of the offences were not disclosed during the sentencing hearing. Today, Davies appeared at Mold Crown Court via videolink from custody to receive his sentence, with the court emphasizing the severity of his crimes.

Judge Niclas Parry addressed Davies directly, stating, "You’re to be sentenced having been convicted after a trial of what can only be described as a campaign of the sexual abuse of three children over a period of some 10 years." The judge highlighted the manipulative nature of Davies' actions, noting that he exploited situations to isolate his victims and repeatedly committed sexual acts against them.

The judge underscored the profound impact of Davies' actions on the victims, describing the harm as immeasurable. One victim was unable to forget the abuse even for a single day, illustrating the deep psychological scars inflicted. Another victim experienced a mental breakdown and required ongoing mental health support, while a third sought counselling to cope with the trauma.

Expressing no leniency, Judge Parry remarked, "I can give you no credit. You had a trial and your victims were forced to relive their ordeals in public." The court also noted that Davies was not a naive individual at the time of the abuse; he was already sexually aware, purchasing and accessing adult pornography, which demonstrated his understanding of what he was doing was wrong. Furthermore, Davies instructed his victims to keep their experiences secret, further emphasizing his manipulative intent.

In addition to the prison sentence, Davies is prohibited from contacting any of his victims by any means indefinitely. His details will also remain on the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community from further harm.
