BLYTH MAN WITH HISTORIC CONVICTIONS FACES NEW CHILD ABUSE CHARGES
A convicted child sex offender is facing yet another stint behind bars after he collected vile sexual images of kids over an eight-year period.Stephen Jones was locked up in 2004 after being convicted of indecent assault on a male who was under 14 years old.
However, the 50-year-old seemingly failed to learn his lesson and, in 2016, began amassing sick child sex abuse pictures, including many category A, which are the most serious kind and involve penetrative sexual activity.
A court heard that, eight years later, police searched Jones's Blyth home and discovered a total of 52 disgusting photos on his electronic devices.
Now, the pervert, of Newsham Road, in Blyth, is facing the prospect of a second prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.
Clare Haswell, prosecuting at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, said police attended Jones's home on October 24 last year.
Miss Haswell added: "His house was searched and multiple devices were seized.
When those devices were forensically analysed, 31 category A images were found, 11 category B and 10 category C." The defendant has three convictions for three offences, including a sexual offence from 2004 for indecent assault on a male under 14.
He received a prison sentence for that.
He is now facing additional charges for possessing indecent images of children, with the case scheduled for a future court date.
