NORTHUMBERLAND PERVERT WHO DISCUSSED SEXUALLY ABUSING BABY JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES
A "cold and calculated" pervert who discussed sexually abusing a baby during a "deplorable" series of offences has been locked up.Ryan Michelini swapped vile images and chats during disgusting online chats with like-minded paedophiles and carried out a sex act in the presence of a child.
The Newcastle Crown Court heard his offending came to light when an undercover police officer engaged with Michelini on Telegram.
He said he was the administrator of a group chat and instructed the officer how to join it, by sending images of child abuse.
He was also part of another group where indecent images were exchanged.
Police found Michelini, 38, had been in a chat with another man in which Michelini sent indecent pictures of a young boy.
He also sent a video of himself carrying out a sex act near a child and made reference to sexual activity.
Michelini also referred to the possibility of sexual abuse of a baby.
When he was arrested, police found thousands of videos and images on his devices, including 67 of the most serious, category A, 71 category B and three category C.
He had sent 139 sexual abuse media files in all three categories.
In interview, he made full admissions to the activity on Telegram and communicating with 40 like-minded individuals, exchanging and making indecent images of children.
He admitted carrying out a sex act near a child but denied touching him sexually and said reference to sexual activity was "fantasy".
Among the images found within the chat between Michelini and another man was a photograph of a baby and sexual chat about the infant.
There was also a discussion of "knocking out" another child with Calpol to facilitate sexual abuse.
He also suggested within a group chat that he was someone who could have access to or distribute sexual images of children and was the self-proclaimed "gatekeeper" of the the group.
Anne Richardson, prosecuting, said it was "a group specifically set up by him to share child sexual abuse material, indeed it was a prerequisite of membership of the group." Impact statements from family members outlined the traumatic impact the offences have had.
One said: "The offences committed our child will haunt us as parents for the rest of our lives" and others described feelings of stress, anxiety, and anguish, with one stating they can no longer take pictures of their own child due to Michelini's actions.
Another victim said their life has been turned upside down, feeling consumed by fear, anger, and heartbreak, and described Michelini as "a really cold, calculated and manipulative person" who is "detached and dangerous".
Michelini pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13, and charges of taking, making, and distributing indecent images and publishing an advert related to indecent images.
