2007: MAN JAILED FOR SEX ACT OUTSIDE HEREFORD NIGHTCLUB
A man has received a one-year prison sentence after being found guilty of engaging in a sexual act outside a nightclub in Hereford.During the court proceedings, prosecutor Gareth Walters described how young women observed 37-year-old Stephen Alexander outside Manhattans at approximately 11:40 pm on April 7, with his trousers lowered.
Alexander, who lives on Springfield Avenue in Hunderton, Hereford, admitted to charges of indecent exposure during his hearing at Worcester Crown Court.
Justice Andrew Geddes noted that Alexander posed a threat to young women and ordered him to register as a sex offender for the next five years.
Additionally, he was banned from working with or residing near individuals under 18 years old and will be subject to a 12-month supervision period following his release from prison.
A probation officer, Tania Young, explained to the court that Alexander had not engaged with recommended sex offender programs and that his offending tendencies could worsen.
The judge highlighted Alexander's criminal history, which includes a six-year prison sentence in 1993 for following a woman home from a nightclub and raping her, as well as a subsequent four-year term in 1997 for indecent assault.
He was ordered to register as a sex offender for life back then.
The judge emphasized the serious nature of his risk to the public.
Defense lawyer Nigel Hall argued that Alexander was not a threat and stated that Alexander had to relocate due to negative publicity following a prior court case.
