HIGH RISK SEX OFFENDER BACK IN COURT AFTER BREAKING BAN
2025-12-14 11:37: Edward Pagdin appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court today for sentencing after breaching lawful court orders. The case, listed under reference 22EA1261125, involved violations of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO), including an interim order and restrictions on foreign travel.
Pagdin, who faced allegations of breaching these court restrictions, was found to have committed offences that undermine court-imposed safeguards.
Details revealed during the hearing confirmed that Pagdin had failed to comply with the conditions set by the court, including restrictions on foreign travel, which are intended to protect the public.
The magistrates considered the breach serious and sentenced him to time behind bars.
They stressed the importance of court orders in safeguarding communities and enforcing the law.
The ruling sends a message that violations of court restrictions will be met with firm penalties.
Pagdin was remanded in custody following the hearing, marking a clear stance on enforcement of court-imposed restrictions related to sexual offences and foreign travel.
--------------------------- 2025-12-04 14:48: A 'HIGH risk' offender who repeatedly broke the rules of a court order banning him from having contact with young girls has been back up before the court.
Edward Pagdin appeared before magistrates for sentencing in November after entering a guilty plea to one count of breaching a sexual offences prevention order at an earlier hearing.
The 76-year-old had been made subject to a sexual offences prevention order by Worcester Crown Court in November 2008, prosecutor Gemma Vernon-Henshaw told magistrates in Hereford.
But, between October 16 2023 and October 16 2025, he had avoidable and unnecessary contact with three girls aged under 16 on multiple occasions in Hereford, in breach of the order's prohibition.
Magistrates said the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified, as it was a persistent and repeated breach of the order over two years, due to his previous offending, and as he has been deemed a high-risk offender by probation.
Pagdin, of Priors Walk, Hereford, was handed an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 24 months.
He must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £187 victim surcharge.
