BELLSHILL WOMAN GIVEN SUPERVISION AFTER ASSAULTING PARTNER WITH SHOE
A woman who hit her partner on the head with a shoe has been placed under supervision for 18 months.
Stacey Lynch, 24, admitted assaulting the man at a flat in Turquoise Terrace, Bellshill, on March 6 last year.
The court heard Lynch, of Jade Terrace, Bellshill, had herself been the victim of domestic violence in a previous relationship, and her defense agent Diarmid Bruce explained her now faced a much-reduced charge.
Lynch's actions were in part due to feeling under threat, and the court was informed that she spent nearly a year on a 7pm to 7am curfew following an initial court appearance.
The article also mentions that Lynch's record includes no prior assaults and describes her as a vulnerable young person.
The court heard that an allegation that she also struck her partner with a bottle, causing severe injury and permanent disfigurement, was dropped.
The case highlighted her history of being a victim of domestic violence and her current offense which resulted in supervision, reflecting her vulnerability and the circumstances of the incident.
