TUNBRIDGE WELLS SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR TARGETING TEENAGE GIRLS
A sex offender named Slawomir Pyza has been sentenced to prison after committing two separate sexual offences involving teenage girls in Tunbridge Wells.Pyza approached a 14-year-old girl sitting alone on a bench near St Matthew’s Church in High Brooms Road on October 22, 2025.
He started a conversation, which quickly moved to inappropriate topics, as he told the girl “Sex is good in Poland,” and made comments about her being sexy and that he loved her.
He then moved closer, kissed her hand, and placed it on his thigh before whispering into her ear and kissing her cheek.
The girl managed to move away, but Pyza persisted, approaching her again in front of others, leading to his arrest on the scene.
He was bailed but reoffended on March 9, 2025, when he targeted another teenage girl, aged 15, in the park.
During this incident, Pyza touched her thigh, offered her cigarettes and a beer, and when she refused a kiss, he kissed her on the lips.
The girl sent an SOS message to her friend, prompting her family to intervene and restrain Pyza until police arrived.
He was arrested a second time and remanded in custody.
During a court trial in August 2025, it was revealed that Pyza had also previously been on police bail for a similar offence.
Pyza, of no fixed address and appearing intoxicated during arrest, was convicted at Maidstone Crown Court in September 2025 for two counts of sexual activity with a child and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
He has already served nearly six months after being remanded in March 2025.
The judge noted Pyza’s denial prolonged the trauma for his victims, stating, “I have no doubt your actions that day have had a profound and lasting effect,” and urged him to reflect on the seriousness of his crimes in the future.
The court also heard emotional victim impact statements showing the long-term psychological damage, including nightmares, loss of sleep, and feelings of shame and anger, caused by Pyza’s actions.
