2014: SON JAILED AFTER BECOMING ANGRY BECAUSE THERE WAS NO BACON IN FRIDGE
A man who became violent after arriving at his mother’s residence demanding breakfast has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail for destroying her kitchen.
According to Bolton Crown Court, Simon Hickey, aged 32 and without a fixed address, lost his temper when he discovered that there was no bacon in the fridge upon his arrival at Diane Cotterill’s home on August 8.
When asked to leave, he reacted aggressively by hurling a glass bowl at a wall, punching a kettle, and breaking several tea and coffee canisters.
The damages were estimated at £30.
The court was informed that Hickey has a lengthy criminal record for violent and aggressive acts and is currently serving time on other charges.
The judge ordered a sentence of eight weeks, to be served alongside his existing imprisonment, imposed a restraining order preventing contact with his mother for three years, and required him to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
