MIDDLESBROUGH WOMAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND THREATENING EX

A woman named Sharon Wyvill has been sentenced to a year in prison after repeatedly breaching a restraining order and harassment charges. She previously stalked her ex-partner over a 10-day period, during which she smashed his living room window with her fist, threw glass at him, and entered his home despite having been issued a restraining order at Teesside Magistrates' Court a month prior. Wyvill was also convicted for turning up at her ex-partner's house in November, banging on the door, and smashing a window while the 93-year-old father of the victim was inside. On Christmas Eve, 2024, Wyvill was handed a suspended prison sentence for stalking involving fear of violence and was subject to an 18-month restraining order preventing her from contacting her victim or entering the street where he lives in Middlesbrough. Despite this, she was found sitting on her ex-partner's sofa inside his house, crying and shouting accusations of infidelity, and threatened to 'torture' him and his future partners if he got involved with anyone else. Her victim reported feeling unsafe and expressed that even with the restraining order, the harassment continued, which compelled the police to arrest her. Wyvill admitted to two counts of breaching the restraining order and was found guilty of a third. The court sentenced her to 40 weeks in prison, activating a previous 12-week suspended sentence, with the likelihood of serving around 40% of the total sentence.
