SHAHID RAZZAQ ROCHDALE PERVERT JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS
In April 2019, a disturbing incident involving a man named Shahid Razzaq unfolded in Rochdale, highlighting a serious concern for community safety and the protection of minors.Razzaq, a resident of Hare Street in Rochdale, was convicted and subsequently sentenced to two years and three months in prison at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Wednesday, 17 April 2019.
His conviction followed a guilty plea to charges related to attempting to sexually assault a girl over the age of 16, as well as attempting to incite a girl under 16 to engage in sexual activity.
The court proceedings revealed that Razzaq’s actions were not isolated incidents but part of a pattern of predatory behavior.
As part of his sentence, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
Additionally, he was issued a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for the same duration, restricting his activities and contact with minors.
The incident that led to Razzaq’s arrest occurred on Thursday, 2 August 2018, outside Touchstones Museum in Rochdale.
A 16-year-old girl was waiting alone for a friend when Razzaq approached her.
He initially asked her for a light and then offered her a cigarette.
During their brief interaction, he inquired about her plans and suggested the possibility of meeting up later.
When she declined his invitation, Razzaq moved closer, stepping in front of her, and made inappropriate, lewd comments.
He also attempted to physically grab her, prompting her to run away and seek help from the police.
The following day, the girl recognized Razzaq in footage posted on Facebook by a member of the public.
The footage, captured on the same day, showed Razzaq being confronted in Broadfield Park by an unidentified individual.
It was during this confrontation that further disturbing details emerged.
Razzaq had approached a group of young girls, aged 15, 13, and 12, in the park and offered them money in exchange for sex.
This revelation underscored the extent of his predatory behavior.
Razzaq was detained by the member of the public after the confrontation in Broadfield Park.
During his arrest, authorities found him in possession of more than £300 in cash.
Despite the evidence, Razzaq denied the allegations during police interviews, claiming he was innocent of the offenses committed both in the park and outside the museum.
His actions and subsequent conviction have raised serious concerns about community safety and the need for vigilance against such predatory behavior.
