A woman reported her former partner, Ryan Morgan, to the authorities after allegedly noticing unsettling messages.However, police investigation uncovered hundreds of indecent images of children, including one featuring a child as young as seven years old.
It was also discovered that Morgan had downloaded software designed to conceal these illicit images.
He had previously sent images of a former girlfriend between the ages of 14 and 16 to someone else, and had conducted online searches for child abuse images.
During court proceedings, it was revealed that police examined his phone and computer, which contained 258 Category A images, 41 Category B images, and 48 Category C images, all depicting children as young as seven.
Morgan admitted to three charges: possession of indecent images of children, distribution of an indecent image of a child, and possession of an extreme pornographic picture.
He received a 14-month suspended sentence that will be activated after 18 months, along with a requirement to complete 20 days of rehabilitative activities and 225 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, he is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
