SHABAZ HUSSAIN SENTENCED IN MIDDLESBROUGH FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man named Shabaz Hussain has been handed a prison sentence of nine years after being convicted of multiple serious child sex offences. The case highlights the disturbing nature of his crimes, which involved a prolonged period of online grooming and subsequent physical abuse of a young girl.Hussain, who resides on Woodlands Road in Middlesbrough, was found guilty in May of 12 separate charges related to child sexual exploitation. Among these charges were five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, a crime that underscores the severity of his actions. The court proceedings revealed that Hussain had targeted a female victim from the age of 12, employing a fake online profile to establish a deceptive relationship with her. This fabricated persona was used to gain her trust, manipulate her emotionally, and ultimately exploit her for sexual purposes.
The grooming process extended over several years, during which Hussain maintained contact with the girl through online communication. The investigation uncovered that he had arranged to meet her in person when she was 15 years old, under false pretenses, leading to sexual encounters. Evidence collected from his electronic devices confirmed the online grooming activities, including sexual communications with a minor and the possession of indecent images.
The police investigation was conducted by Cleveland Police’s POLIT team, which praised the bravery of the victims who supported the case. Their testimonies and evidence played a crucial role in securing the conviction. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online predators and the importance of vigilance when interacting with unknown individuals on the internet. Authorities continue to warn the public about the risks of online grooming and emphasize the need for caution and awareness to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
