TEESSIDE TEEN RAPIST JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE
A rapist who subjected a child victim to horrendous sexual abuse has been jailed.Sebastian Robinson lived in a "fantasy world" of porn, Teesside Crown Court heard.
He began watching porn frequently, which shaped his attitudes towards women and girls, and led him on to commit horrific sex offences.
The 20-year-old committed a number of rapes and sexual assaults against a child victim - who he told would be arrested if they went to the police.
The victim also went on to suffer a mental breakdown due to the traumatic abuse.
On Friday, Robinson appeared at Teesside Crown Court to be sentenced for counts of rape and sexual assault.
He had been found guilty of the offences after a trial.
The court heard that Robinson carried out the offences when he himself was a teenager.
Judge Jo Kidd said: "You began looking at porn, shaping your attitudes between women, girls and sex.
It was a toxic combination...you plummeted into a fantasy world." The court also heard that Robinson's behaviour towards his victim had "bullying" and "threatening" elements.
In a statement, the victim said Robinson "controlled" them by saying they would be arrested if they went to the police.
Paul Abrahams, mitigating, said Robinson was of previous good character and is neurodivergent.
Judge Kidd sentenced Robinson to seven years in a youth offender institution and imposed a restraining order.
He will be on the sex offender register until further order and a sexual harm prevention order was also imposed.
