HANLEY MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND VIOLENT ATTACK ON WOMAN
A man who attacked a woman with a metal bar after engaging in a sexual assault in Stoke-on-Trent has been sentenced to prison.Sebastian Prus, 50 years old and from Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, was given a sentence of three years and three months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday, October 10.
He had previously admitted to charges of wounding with intent and sexual assault during an earlier hearing.
The incident was reported to have taken place in June of the previous year inside Prus’s residence.
The victim reported that he made unwelcome sexual advances, which she attempted to resist.
He touched her over her clothing and responded with verbal abuse.
He then turned violent, hitting her multiple times with a metal bar and slapping her.
Following a call to emergency services, police arrested Prus shortly afterward.
He was charged with the crimes and admitted to his actions in court.
Detective Constable Jacob Thackstone, from the child protection team, stated: “This was a particularly violent attack on the survivor who will no doubt be living with the psychological effects of what Prus did to her.
“I’m pleased that we were able to build all of the evidence needed to secure his conviction and subsequent custodial sentence.”
