MAN JAILED FOR TERRORISING EX IN TROON
A JEALOUS thug who terrorised his ex-partner at her Troon home in the early hours of the morning had been jailed for six months.Depute Fiscal, Maureen Mullan, told Ayr Sheriff Court last week that Sean MacArthur's ex was asleep in her Dundonald Road home at 4.30am when she was awakened by him banging on the door and demanding to be allowed in.Miss Mullan added: "He called her 'a ff******* fat slag'.The witness was fearful and activated a panic alarm."The accused's arm then came through the cat flap."The woman told MacArthur that she had pressed the panic button and the police were on their way.Miss Mullan said: "He left the close and made his way out of the building and began to shout and swear outside her flat."MacArthur, 24, of Walker Avenue, admitted that on June 9 he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing.Solicitor Ian Gillies said that his ex-partner had posted pictures of her with her new boyfriend on a social network site.He added: "This provoked jealousy in him.
He consumed more and more alcohol and made a grave error of judgement."Sheriff Norman McFadyen imposed the six month sentence on MacArthur - who has previous convictions - and told him: "This has to have been a frightening experience indeed."
