ROCHDALE MAN JAILED FOR COCAINE-FUELED SEXUAL ASSAULT AND FINANCIAL THEFT
A man named Sean Howarth has been convicted and given a prison term after assaulting a woman who was unconscious after he spiked her drink with cocaine during a night out in Manchester in February 2019.His criminal actions involved carrying the woman to a hotel, unlawfully accessing her bank account through her fingerprint, transferring her money into his account, and collecting personal details including email, banking passwords, and social media data.
Video evidence showed him pulling down the woman's clothing and sexually assaulting her.
Originally from Rochdale, Howarth pleaded guilty and received a sentence of seven years and two months at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
Additionally, he must register as a sex offender for life.
Greater Manchester Police described his behavior as predatory and a grave misconduct, highlighting that he exploited the woman for sexual satisfaction and financial motives, and that he had previously made unwanted advances towards women in the nightclub.
The incident has been described as genuinely shocking and brings attention to the serious nature of such crimes.
