A MAN WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A WOMAN AT A PROPERTY IN STIRLING HAS BEEN JAILED.
A man convicted of sexually assaulting a woman at a property in Stirling has received a prison sentence.
Sean Curran has also been ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
During proceedings at Stirling Sheriff Court, it was revealed that the 36-year-old was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the offence.
Sheriff Euan Gosney emphasized to him, “Intoxication is no excuse.” Sean Curran appeared before the court, which was told that he committed the assault in January of the previous year.
The sheriff highlighted that the victim had a right to feel safe and secure in her own home.
The court sentenced Curran to 20 months in prison.
Additionally, he was issued a non-harassment order that prohibits him from contacting the victim for ten years.
Curran, who resides on Paton Drive in Falkirk, pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual assault involving penetration with his fingers.
