DAD-OF-FOUR SHOCKED PUBGOERS — NOW ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER HUMILIATING ATTACK ON WOMAN
A Falkirk father of four has been branded a danger to the public and ordered to sign the sex offenders register after a degrading and humiliating assault on a woman inside a busy local pub. The court heard the defendant subjected the victim to a disturbing attack while other drinkers looked on — acts that left witnesses stunned and the complainer deeply embarrassed.
Prosecutors argued his behaviour went beyond a simple dispute, describing it as an assault designed to humiliate the woman in a public setting.
Despite having young children at home, the man’s actions were judged so serious that he must now remain on the sex offenders register — a sanction usually reserved for crimes with a sexual element.
The humiliation suffered by his victim was explicitly cited by the judge in handing down the sentence.
Local residents expressed shock that a parent and family man was before the court for such a case.
Some regulars at the pub described the incident as a “wake-up call” over rowdy behaviour and alcohol-fuelled confrontations in licensed premises.
The ruling means he will be monitored by police for a specified period and face strict conditions designed to protect the public.
The court’s decision to impose the register requirement reflects the judge’s view that the attack involved behaviour falling within the scope of sex-related offending as defined by Scottish law.
