FORMER FALKIRK FC CHAIRMAN GARY DEANS PLACED ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER
A man from Kinross-shire, who previously served as the chairman of Falkirk Football Club, has been placed on the sex offenders register and may face imprisonment for possessing materials related to bestiality and child abuse.Stirling Sheriff Court was informed that the police carried out a raid at Deans’ home in Brightons, Falkirk, early in the morning on February 10, 2023.
During the search, officers found a number of electronic devices, for which Deans provided the necessary passwords.
Forensic testing of an external hard drive connected to a laptop revealed 15 images and 15 video clips depicting extreme pornography, created during the months of February to May 2022.
The police also discovered 18 still images and six videos that involved child sexual exploitation, some involving children as young as four to ten years old.
Deans stated to the police that he was in a chat room where someone had sent him such images, which he then deleted, claiming he never shared them.
Prosecutor Ronnie Hay told the court that one of the videos showed a dog licking a male’s genitals, with a detective confirming the dog resembled Deans’ dog at the time of the search.
Deans later told authorities that he had viewed the child abuse content after engaging in online conversations with an anonymous female.
The defendant, who is a first-time offender and a former chartered accountant now living in Rumbling Bridge, admitted to possessing the illicit materials between February and August 2022.
