CREWE MAN JAILED FOR RAPE AND KNIFE ASSAULT
A man named Scott Lindsay from Crewe has been sentenced following a conviction for serious crimes, including rape and sexual assault.Despite claiming innocence, the jury at Liverpool Crown Court returned a guilty verdict.
It was revealed during the trial that Lindsay assaulted the victim after she refused to provide him with money for drugs.
Police officials stated that his actions left the victim emotionally scarred.
Court testimony included that Lindsay visited her residence on April 8 and assaulted her, and on the subsequent day, he approached her in a vehicle and threatened to kill her.
She reported these incidents to police and also disclosed a prior report in which Lindsay had forcibly raped and assaulted her.
The court also heard that Lindsay had threatened her with a knife, seized her by the hair, and cut her chest area.
Detective Sergeant Whitfield said, “Scott Lindsay repeatedly assaulted and forcibly raped the victim.
His conduct has caused significant emotional damage.” Law enforcement officers praised the victim’s courage for testifying about her traumatic experiences.
Lindsay, aged 55, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for his conduct, which resulted in both physical and emotional injuries to the victim.
