MAN JAILED FOR SHARING INTIMATE IMAGES OF COUPLE WITHOUT CONSENT
A man responsible for distributing private photos of a couple without their permission has been sentenced to prison.James Ledsham, aged 24, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday, 12 January, where he received a prison term of 30 months.
He had previously admitted to charges of blackmail, harassment, and sharing private images without consent during a prior court hearing.
The investigation started in September 2024 when a family member of the victims received private images of the couple from a Facebook profile named ‘Jerry Saa.’ The family then informed the victims, who were unaware of the source of the images and initially chose to ignore the messages.
The situation worsened in November 2024 when ‘Jerry Saa’ directly contacted one of the victims, demanding more private photos.
In his messages, he threatened to share the existing images with the victims’ relatives and friends or post them publicly on Facebook if his demand was not met.
Although the victims tried to dismiss the threats, they were later approached by a friend who reported receiving the same private images from the same account.
Subsequently, the matter was reported to law enforcement, who identified Ledsham as the individual behind the account after conducting investigations.
