BRIDLINGTON MAN SCOTT KINSEY JAILED FOR ATTACKING PREGNANT PARTNER
A Bridlington thug who violently attacked his pregnant partner has been sentenced to 44 months in prison and received a restraining order to protect her.
The attack involved Kinsey punching his partner in the stomach and continuing to kick her while she was on the ground, resulting in her bleeding and subsequently losing her baby a few days later after being taken to hospital.
Prosecutors acknowledged that they could not definitively prove that the assault caused the miscarriage, though it was a recognized possibility.
Kinsey, aged 28, who has a history of violence and harassment convictions, was accused of hounding his partner despite breaching a restraining order.
During a court hearing, he admitted to the assault in Newcastle but denied causing the miscarriage.
He was also found guilty of assaulting an emergency worker after throwing papers at police.
In an impact statement, the victim described her fear for her life, scars, and emotional trauma inflicted by Kinsey, emphasizing her desire to rebuild her life free of harassment and threats.
Kinsey's actions included incessant calls and messages despite legal restrictions, and he mouthed abuse, made hand gestures, laughed, and spat at the court camera after sentencing.
