TEEN SEX OFFENDER SCOTT GRAHAM SENTENCED AFTER RAPES
Scott Graham, who turned 19 on the day of sentencing, has been convicted of committing two serious sexual offenses. The first involved sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl while she was at a college hostel.
This incident occurred after Graham, who had been free on bail, appeared in court accused of a previous sexual assault.
The jury at the High Court in Edinburgh found him guilty of both charges: one of sexually assaulting the girl in December 2006 at Oatridge College in West Lothian, where she was drinking at a Christmas disco, and another of raping a 47-year-old woman in Galashiels.
In the first case, the girl recounted how Graham forced her onto a bed after following her back to her hostel room, despite her protests, and forcibly removed her pajamas while telling her, "I know you want it." In the second case, Graham met the woman in a bar, followed her to her flat, and raped her after she went home alone.
Graham claimed both women had sex willingly, but the court did not accept his defense.
The judge, Lord Philip, ordered Graham to be remanded in custody for sentencing.
