Inverkeithing saw a woman assaulted by her partner, during which he choked her.
The attacker, identified as Scott Dixon, aged 42, was subsequently given a prison sentence by Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Dixon, who previously resided on Hill Street in Inverkeithing and is now residing in a Buckhaven hostel on Michael Street, pleaded guilty to abusing his partner from June 19th to 24th.
In this period, he physically restrained her by clutching her around the neck and applying pressure that compromised her breathing.
Prosecutor Annie Henderson explained that around 4:30 a.m., an argument broke out as Dixon played loud music, disturbing his partner’s attempt to sleep.
In an angry reaction, Dixon got up from the sofa and grabbed her with both hands around her neck, squeezing until she was unable to breathe.
She managed to break free and contacted emergency services.
Upon police arrival, Dixon claimed he did not believe his actions warranted arrest.
He was also found to have broken bail restrictions.
The court emphasized Dixon’s previous convictions related to domestic violence.
