A man has been sentenced to prison after a sexual assault incident was reported in Ellesmere Port.
Sayed Hasib, who has no permanent address, appeared before Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 March 2026, where he received a 12-month custodial sentence.
The 30-year-old Afghan national admitted guilt to a charge of sexual assault.
The incident occurred shortly before 6 pm on Saturday, 21 March 2026, when police responded to reports of a man inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl over her clothing at South Pier Road, Ellesmere Port.
Upon arrival, officers detained Hasib at the scene.
After being questioned, he was formally charged with the offence.
