PAISLEY MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND PUBLIC DISORDER DURING ALCOHOL-FUELED ATTACK
A violent offender named Ryan Henson, aged 30, was sentenced to eight months in prison for attacking his ex-partner and repeatedly punching a neighbor during a drunken altercation. The incident took place at Thrushcraig Crescent, Paisley, on October 17.
Court proceedings revealed that Henson, who has previous convictions for domestic abuse against ex Kimberley Stewart, engaged in violent behavior during the incident, clashing with neighbor David Smith and kicking Ms Stewart after tempers flared.
Henson made hateful allegations about the victims' sexuality during the disturbance.
He pleaded guilty to charges of public disorder, shouting, swearing, homophobic remarks, assaulting Mr.
Smith by repeatedly punching him, and attacking Ms.
Stewart by kicking her.
The court noted that he committed these offenses while out on bail.
His defense argued he was a hardworking man whose alcohol consumption led to the violence, and recommended community-based punishment.
However, the judge, Sheriff Tom McCartney, citing Henson's prior record, the nature of the offenses, and that the crimes occurred while on bail, imposed an eight-month prison sentence and a two-year non-harassment order preventing contact with Ms.
Stewart.
