ROY MILLINGTON FROM LEEK SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IN STAFFORDSHIRE
In October 2017, a disturbing case unfolded at Stafford Crown Court involving Roy Millington, a 73-year-old resident of Leek, who was found guilty of a series of heinous crimes against two young girls.The court heard that Millington had subjected the victims to a prolonged and systematic campaign of sexual abuse over several years, causing immense trauma and suffering.
During the trial held on October 26th, 2017, the jury convicted Millington on multiple serious charges.
These included one count of raping a child under the age of 13, as well as three counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
Additionally, he was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault involving penetration of a girl under 13, and two other counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
The court was informed that the abuse inflicted upon the two victims was both repeated and sustained, with one girl being abused between the ages of five and eleven, and the other between five and seven.
Throughout the proceedings, Millington refused to admit to the allegations, which compelled both victims to give evidence in court.
Despite his denial, the jury found him guilty of eight serious sexual offences.
Some charges could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt and were therefore not included in the conviction.

In response, the judge handed down a substantial sentence of 14 years in prison.
