MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TEEN GIRL
A man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison, suspended for two years, for the sexual assault of a teenage girl.
Edward Rose, from Leek, Staffordshire, a volunteer litter picker in the town, had pleaded guilty in connection with an incident in January.
His victim was 17, Staffordshire Police said.
At Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday, Rose, 32, was also ordered to register with officers, for ten years, in accordance with requirements of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
In the month before his offence, Rose had shared with media outlets, including the BBC, how his voluntary work had given him "purpose" after recovering from drug addiction.
