ROBIN JEFFERY FROM WITNEY SPARED JAIL AFTER HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IMAGE DISCOVERY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Witney, Robin Jeffery, a 38-year-old man, was found to possess an astonishing and disturbing collection of child abuse images and videos.The police first became aware of suspicious online activity originating from an internet connection at an address on Busby Close, Witney, in April of the previous year.
Despite efforts to apprehend the suspect at his residence, it was not until October 4 that officers made a physical visit to the property.
When they arrived, they found Jeffery sitting in his car outside the house.
Upon approaching him, the police were granted entry into the property, where they seized a laptop for forensic analysis.
The subsequent investigation revealed a horrifying cache of illegal material stored on the device.
The police forensic team uncovered a total of 1,316 indecent images classified under category C, which is considered the third most severe level of child exploitation images.
Additionally, there were 25 images categorized as level B, indicating a higher degree of severity.
The device also contained four videos classified under the most extreme category, A, which depicts the most severe forms of child abuse.
Furthermore, an alarming 169,579 uncharacterized images were found, with authorities still working to analyze and categorize this vast collection.
Robin Jeffery, who has since moved to Two Mile Ash, Milton Keynes, had previously admitted to three counts of making indecent images of children.
His case was brought before Oxford Crown Court, where he faced sentencing.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Jeffery had used peer-to-peer file-sharing software called E-Mule to search for illegal images, employing terms such as ‘Lolita’ and ‘Nymphets’ in his online activity.
Judge Zoe Smith described the quantity of images as ‘a phenomenal’ amount and emphasized the severity of the content.
She stated, “Those in category A or B are nothing more than torture of young children.
You say you got into this through chronic loneliness but this obviously became very, very addictive to you.” As a result, Jeffery was sentenced to a 12-month prison term, which was suspended for two years.
He was also placed under a community order that includes a requirement to participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £670 and will remain on the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years.
