MAN DENIES SEXUAL ASSAULTING WOMAN ON GREENOCK BUS
A MAN has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a woman while travelling on a Greenock-bound bus.Robert Traquair denies repeatedly touching the woman’s legs during the course of a journey from Braehead Shopping Centre to West Stewart Street on October 6.
It is alleged the 48-year-old also touched and rubbed his groin area whilst looking directly at the complainer.
He faces a further allegation of communicating indecently with the woman by making comments of a sexual nature to her.
Traquair, of Paisley, pleaded not guilty to the three charges through defence solicitor Aidan Gallagher at Greenock Sheriff Court.
A trial was fixed for April 1, 2026, with Sheriff Sean Lynch granting Traquair bail on the condition that he does not approach or contact the woman.
