Robert Pinnington, a resident of Gwynfryn in Y Fron, Caernarfon, was given a prison sentence after attacking his wife during a violent incident.
Court documents reveal that Pinnington pleaded guilty to multiple serious charges, including causing actual bodily harm through assault, intentionally strangling his wife, and making threats to kill her.
The assault took place on November 1 of the previous year when his wife was sleeping in bed.
Reports state that he bit her lower lip, resulting in bleeding, then proceeded to strangle her and issued threatening statements.
The victim managed to escape by calling out for help to her daughter.
Detective Constable Mark Atkinson of North Wales Police described the assault as particularly brutal and without cause, emphasizing its severity and potential long-lasting impact on the victim and her family.
