DERBYSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR 21 YEARS FOR PROLONGED SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGERS
Malcolm Storie, a 54-year-old from Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison after being found guilty of repeatedly sexually abusing two teenage boys.Storie denied certain allegations, including rape and sexual assault, related to incidents that took place in 2014 and 2015.
The offences occurred in locations including Anglesey, Derbyshire, and abroad.
After a five-day trial at Caernarfon Crown Court, the jury convicted him on all 14 counts, with the judge delaying sentencing for a report.
Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke remarked that only a custodial sentence was appropriate, characterizing the offences as a pattern of rape and serious sexual assault against two minors.
During the sentencing hearing, Storie, who appeared emotionless, was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and to adhere to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
It was disclosed that he had a prior conviction from 1983 for indecent assault on a teenager.
The court learned that Storie had befriended the victims—aged 15 and 16—by communicating through messages, giving gifts, and taking them on overnight stays, where the abuse was carried out.
The allegations surfaced after one victim confided in a relative, leading to police involvement.
Although Storie denied any sexual activity, police interviews revealed he only saw the boys as friends.
Further allegations by the second victim resulted in additional charges.
Law enforcement expressed appreciation for the victims’ bravery, emphasizing that Storie is a dangerous individual who exploited trust and will be unable to commit further harm.
An NSPCC representative highlighted the traumatic impact of such abuse and underscored the importance of treatment to help prevent future offenses from Storie.
