2004: CHILD PORN MAN JAILED
A man from a town was sentenced to six months in prison after downloading nine video clips containing child pornography.Authorities executed a search at Robert Hine’s former residence on Gilbert Road in Bromsgrove, confiscating his computer devices.
The explicit videos depicted girls as young as six engaging in sexual acts with adults and featured four nude girls in a shower scene, according to prosecutor Alex Warren at Worcester Crown Court.
The 38-year-old, now residing on Brailes Grove in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, admitted to nine counts of producing indecent images of children.
Judge Andrew Geddes stated that Hine’s disturbing actions promote the exploitation of children and cause them lasting harm.
As part of his sentence, Hine was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.
Warren explained that the videos, each lasting up to six minutes, ranged from provocative poses to full sexual intercourse, involving girls aged from six to 14.
Hine told authorities he had been seeking material involving older girls aged 14 to 15.
His defense attorney, Nicolas Cartwright, described Hine as single, with hobbies including motorsport and computing.
He noted Hine also had a sexual interest in adult material, but admitted he had a fascination with videos involving minors.
Hine reportedly kept his computer on overnight to download additional files and claimed he hadn’t viewed many of the recordings.
Court documents indicated that since his arrest in December 2002, Hine had experienced stress and had begun to learn his lesson.
His employer, who had employed him for 16 years, agreed to keep his position open.
