At Paisley Sheriff Court, 40-year-old Robert Gallacher, originally from Paisley but residing in Kilmarnock, admitted to engaging in online chats with someone he believed to be a 12-year-old girl named ‘Molly.’ In fact, ‘Molly’ was an undercover officer working covertly as part of an official investigation, aiming to gather intelligence against individuals involved in such conduct.
From May 27 to June 18, 2025, Gallacher sent a series of sexually explicit messages from his residence on Kilmaurs Road, Kilmarnock.
These messages included requests for explicit images, questions about ‘Molly’s’ previous sexual experiences, comments on her looks, and discussions about engaging in sex.
On June 19, 2025, at Ferguslie Park Avenue in Paisley, Gallacher attempted to meet ‘Molly,’ with the intention of committing illegal sexual acts.
He advised her to skip school and instead meet him, proposing they go for a drive to a quiet place.
He described his car, a red Audi S3, mentioning a large back seat, and asked her to perform oral sex with him, followed by sexual intercourse.
The defense asked for background reports to be prepared ahead of sentencing.
The sheriff, Bruce Erroch KC, temporarily adjourned the case to allow for a social work report and a review of Gallacher’s suitability for a restricted liberty order.
He was also placed on the sex offender register and will face sentencing next month.
