GREENOCK MAN SPARED JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT ON WOMAN
A man from Greenock has avoided imprisonment after entering a woman’s residence without permission and carrying out a sexual assault.The 52-year-old was convicted following a trial held in March 2026 at Greenock Sheriff Court.
In addition, he was found guilty of another offense involving stalking a second woman.
It is reported that he approached her at her home and made sexual remarks during encounters over a period of 15 months, including incidents when she was out in public.
Although prison was a possible sentence, he received a community payback order instead.
Sheriff Harry Small imposed a two-year supervision period involving social workers, along with 200 hours of unpaid work.
Furthermore, he was registered as a sex offender.
