BANBURY PENSIONER ON TRIAL FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT
A pensioner accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 is currently standing trial at Oxford Crown Court this week.Robert Davies, aged 80, residing on Union Street in Banbury, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault.
Of these, four counts are alleged to be against a child under the age of 13 who still cannot be named publicly.
The court reports that Davies entered not guilty pleas for all counts in September 2023.
The trial, overseen by Judge Khan, is expected to last five days, with the jury already sworn in.
The trial was scheduled to resume on Wednesday, June 4 at Oxford Crown Court.
