RICKY GREEN FROM KINGS LYNN AND WISBECH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS AND DRUG DEALING

In December 2011, Ricky Green, a man previously residing in Kings Lynn and later living on Old Lynn Road in Wisbech, was handed a significant prison sentence following a series of serious criminal offenses. Green, aged 28 at the time, was convicted of multiple charges, including sexually assaulting two young girls and inciting sexual activity with minors, as well as possessing a substantial quantity of illegal drugs with intent to supply.r>

Green's criminal activities came to light after a lengthy legal process. He was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and engaging in three separate incidents where he incited sexual activity with girls aged 13 and 14. The court heard that Green had approached the 14-year-old girl with the intent of having sex, offering her £50 in exchange. During one of these encounters, he exposed himself, touched her private parts, and kissed her. In another incident, he persuaded a 13-year-old girl to tickle him, which resulted in her touching his private parts. These acts demonstrated a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior towards vulnerable minors.r>

In addition to the sexual offenses, Green faced charges related to drug possession. On May 17 of the previous year, police intercepted Green in a silver Mercedes during a police chase in Lynn. A police helicopter tracked the vehicle, leading to the recovery of 617 grams of amphetamine powder, divided into 25 packets. The packaging of the drugs strongly suggested an intent to supply, with a street value estimated at around £5,500. Green pleaded guilty to possessing the drugs with the intent to supply, and the court sentenced him to six months in prison for this offense.r>

Separate court proceedings addressed the sexual assault charges. Judge Peter De Mille emphasized the breach of trust involved, noting that Green had been trusted by the victims and their families. The judge remarked that Green had betrayed that trust in a most serious manner. Green was sentenced to an additional two-and-a-half years in prison for the sexual offenses, bringing his total incarceration period to over three years.r>

The case also involved two other individuals who were implicated in the drug trafficking operation, though Green was the primary focus of the court's attention. Prosecutor Ian James explained that the police operation in Kings Lynn and Wisbech led to the arrest of Green and his accomplices, with the drugs being seized during the chase.r>

The impact of Green’s crimes extended beyond the courtroom. The mother of one of the victims, who chose to remain anonymous to protect her daughter’s identity, expressed her profound disgust and relief that her daughter and the other victim had come forward. She revealed that her family had been forced to relocate due to the trauma and fear caused by Green’s actions. She also criticized the justice system, stating that the lengthy 19-month court process had been a source of additional distress. Despite feeling relieved that Green was now behind bars, she and her family remain concerned about potential repercussions, including vandalism, as evidenced by their windows being smashed after speaking out.r>

Both victims are currently receiving counseling to help them cope with the emotional aftermath of their experiences. The mother concluded by emphasizing that while the victims are now safer, the scars of the ordeal will remain, and the community continues to grapple with the consequences of Green’s actions.
