A man who repeatedly sexually assaulted a child over a period of eight years has been given a 20-year prison sentence.
Christopher Rudd, 34, of Fenland Road, Wisbech, was sentenced at King's Lynn Crown Court on Monday, 17 November.
The sentencing follows a week-long trial in August, during which a jury unanimously convicted him of 12 counts of child rape, two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), and one count of inducing fear of violence.
The court was informed that the abuse occurred in the King's Lynn area and was disclosed in January 2025 when the victim confided in her family about the abuse.
Testimony revealed that alongside the sexual assaults, Rudd also physically harmed the girl by choking, kicking, and punching her; on one occasion, her fingers were fractured.
Today’s penalty included a 20-year prison sentence with an additional four years on license.
Rudd was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life, comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and an indefinite restraining order was put in place against him.
